A New Day

July 4, 2009

First, I would like to wish everyone a happy 4th of July and my mother and Wytni’s dad a very happy birthday!  It’s raining, but with any luck it will clear up by tonight leaving behind the perfect conditions to shoot off massive amounts of fireworks, but if luck chooses to glare instead of smile, our new deck is covered, so we can just lounge underneath the roof and drink ourselves into a stupor.

Alas, my allergies have gotten the best of me, and it has reached the point where I must give in and take conventional allergy medication.  The only problem is that the blasted stuff keeps me awake at night.  But I either take it or suffer, so I’m taking it.

As I sit and drink my delicious coffee, I think about freedom–topic of the day.

I’m a sucker for cheesy, uplifting songs, so I thought I would post some lyrics to sum up what’s on my mind this morning.

The following is a song by Tamar Kaprelian entitled “New Day.”  I’m ashamed to admit that I first heard it while indulging in an episode of The Hills.  Can’t lie.  Occasionally, that show has some darn good music.

Here you are.  Enjoy.

Verse:
Before the light I found the dark
Before tonight I fell apart
Frozen up I’ve realized that something’s gotta change
It took a crash to understand

Time kept slipping through my hands
I never used to know
The sun will shine after the rain

Chorus:
Say goodbye, say goodbye to the way
I was before
Say hello, say hello to a new way
I was lost, but I found what

I was looking for
Waking up, waking up to a new day
A new day

Verse
I was sleeping in a twisted dream
Dying just to make believe
A pretty situation was far from where I was
But I’m not up for giving up
Lying down and out of luck
My mistakes are in the open and know I’m finally coming clean

Chorus:
Say goodbye, say goodbye to the way
I was before
Say hello, say hello to a new way
I was lost, but I found what

I was looking for
Waking up, waking up to a new day
A new day

Bridge:

Cause everything, everything
ends at the start
I’m healing and feeling all of my scars

Chorus:
Say goodbye, say goodbye to the way
I was before
Say hello, say hello to a new way
I was lost, but I found what

I was looking for
Waking up, waking up to a new day
A new day

To Madi:  If you haven’t heard this beautiful piece of music.  Listen to it!  She was inspired as a child by classic Disney movies.  :)  I know that we can appreciate that!  Haha!

Now I must be off to take precautionary measures against sickness.  My allergies have produced green phlegm.  Too much information?  Too bad.  The green stuff is never good.  Some tea, a healthy breakfast and proper attitude should fix it right up, not to mention some allergy meds.

Au Revoir
